Process Flow of Cottonseed Oil Production Line
Seed Cleaning and Dehulling
Cottonseeds are first cleaned to remove dust, stones, metal, and other impurities using vibrating screens, destoners, and magnetic separators. Dehulling separates the kernels from the hard seed coat, improving oil extraction efficiency.
Seed Conditioning and Flaking
The kernels are heated and softened to enhance cell wall permeability, then flaked using roller machines. Proper flaking is critical to achieve high oil yield in the extraction process.
Oil Extraction
- Solvent Extraction: Pre-treated cottonseed flakes are fed into a rotocel extractor or chain extractor, where food-grade solvent dissolves the oil.
- Desolventization: The residual meal is treated in a desolventizer-toaster to remove solvent safely and prepare it for feed production.
Oil Refining
Crude cottonseed oil undergoes degumming, neutralization, bleaching, and deodorization, producing refined edible oil that meets international food standards.
Packing and Storage
Refined cottonseed oil is packed in bottles, drums, or bulk tanks according to customer requirements, ready for distribution.
