The sunflower oil production line generally includes the following stages:
Seed Cleaning and Dehulling
Sunflower seeds are first cleaned to remove dust, stones, and impurities. Depending on the variety, dehulling may be required to increase oil yield and reduce fiber content.
Crushing and Flaking
Clean seeds are crushed into smaller particles, then flaked into thin pieces to enlarge the contact area for oil extraction.
Cooking and Conditioning
Flakes are cooked under controlled temperature and moisture conditions, which helps break down cell structures and improve oil recovery.
Oil Extraction
Depending on project requirements, sunflower oil can be extracted through mechanical pressing or solvent extraction. For large-scale projects, solvent extraction ensures higher efficiency and residual oil content as low as 1%.
Filtration and Refining
Crude sunflower oil is filtered, then refined through degumming, neutralization, bleaching, and deodorization to meet edible oil standards. Plate frame filters or leaf filters are commonly applied at this stage.
Oil Storage and Packaging
Refined oil is stored in stainless steel tanks and packaged into bottles, pouches, or drums according to market demand.
